Beulah vom Hügel-Hafen

Beulah is from our "B" litter, which is a repeat breeding of the A litter. She is a striking female with excellent conformation, receiving V2 at the 2021 DKGNA Annual Meeting. Beulah is an outstanding hunting dog, and has hunted wild birds all her life - from early season birds to the most educated late-season pheasants. So far, she has successfully hunted Sharp-tail grouse, Pheasant, Hungarian Partridge, Bobwhite Quail, Mearns Quail, Gambel's Quail, Scale Quail, Rabbits, and Waterfowl. Beulah's natural talent to track has been a great asset in the field and on the water on crippled birds. She will not leave until she has tracked and retrieved the game.

Beulah has an efficient, long reaching stride in the field with medium range, that enables her to hunt long days back to back.  Her pointing is solid with picture perfect style. In the water she is determined to find game and is quiet in the blind. As a pup, we called her a little shark because she was so stealthy and such a strong swimmer. Beulah is a highly intelligent, cooperative dog and is always hunting for you. She is easy to train with a high willingness to please and has a wonderful temperament. She lives in the house with us and two other females; she is extremely affectionate and connected.

The Judge’s comments at the conformation ring were as follows: “A bold, muscular strong female with a strong personality, but calm. Female head. Dry neck. Excellent straight top-line which can best be seen during movement. Croup and tail correct. Posterior angulation very good. A very strong and correct fore chest with good reach. Good depth of chest. Slightly too tucked. Very good movement laterally, front and back very parallel. Overall, a very beautiful female with substance."

Beulah is approximately 60% Hege-Haus blood, with well-known names in her pedigree such as Quickstep, Jogurt, Kastor, and Nougat vom Hege-Haus. On her paternal side there is Pöttsiepen, and Asseburg.

Bosko vom Dakota

Bosko is a combination of several successful lines of DK. The female line was a combination of Hege Haus and Pottsiepen. The male line is down from Madlage with dogs strong in Pottmes line. Bosko’s grandfather is Sam vom Dehlme Horst. Sam was a very desirable male in Germany know to throw very good working dogs and very good nose quality. Bosko is a V male at 66 cm at 75 lbs. He exhibits a strong Hege-Haus type male head.

In the field Bosko is a powerful field dog with a wide search (4H AZP). He demonstrates exceptional use of nose. Equally as powerful in the water. He was completely steady at 15 months. It is rare to give him a command twice. This is a dog that has been trained and tested by Todd Waite, the owner, not a professional trainer. His performance is verified with his testing scores D1, AZP1 and VGP1, all prize ones.

Bosko is kept in the house and is a calm traveling companion. He is at home and happiest with people. Though he has had success in testing, Bosko excels in hunting, and primarily wild pheasants. Todd states, “I have had several dogs and he is the best that I have owned on running pheasants. He is a staunch pointer and excellent retriever.”

He is sharp on predators but does not go looking for them. He has never had any issues with other K9’s and has never been in any dog fight. He is a house dog and exhibits perfect mental stability. He is a very complete dog.

Conformation highlights include Old style German Head. Fore chest and depth correct. Movement coming and going correct. Great bone. Very dark pigment, great presence.
